Email filtering solution for large scale networks.Using a selection of open source software the server will be able to either operate as a standalone mail server or to act as a proxy infront of an existing mail system.
As mail is passed through the server, it would be scanned for spam and virus pay loads. The system should be configurable to allow for various systems to be turned on and off such as RBL\'s, spam and/or virus scanning as well as manual blocking of keywords and network names and ip ranges.
Initially the basic service would be built to scan messages and relay onto another mail server and from there, other features added such as the web based configuration, mail storage systems, webmail and per user config. External existing databases could also be utilised to reduce the need for multiple configurations.
The final goal would also include the ability to cluster the services with some form of sensible configuration management.
