Project Proposal
To build a self contained music player/internet radio/jukebox using efika MX53/41Hz.com amp 6/500GB WD Elements/12 Volt 7Ah AGM Battery/external pv panel. This is a development of my current system based on headlless MX51 Smarttop and battery powered amp.
Objectives:
1. Obtain best possible fidelity playback from 44.1/16 wav files using kernel mods where necessary - in line with the MX51 audio tweaks.
2. Ensure relaible and glitch free audio streaming playback up to 320k AAC/MP3
3. Use low cost/low tech/recyled/easily available parts.
4. Only use non GPL software by exception.
5. Reduce power consumption to minimum necessary for identified task(s).
6. To prove/disprove the possibilty of running hifi/internet radio continuously 'off grid' in Northern European climate
I will provide the other parts necessary to support the MX53 development kit and will blog my findings on powerdeveloper.org
