Project Summary
The KDE Plasma Netbook Workspace is optimized for netbooks:

Kubuntu has shipped multiple releases with for netbooks based on this KDE technology:

Up to now, the primary target has been Intel Atom based netbooks due to lack of hardware to integrate and test on Arm. All of the relevant applications are built and have at least rudimentary testing on Arm. If the Kubuntu developers had access to a Smartbook, it would be the primary installation target on Arm.
Work to be accomplished is verifying low level hardware enablement integrates and works with KDE so that it functions as a user would expect and testing with the this target form factor that the look and feel of the layout works at this exact scale. Hardware would be most useful in the Natty development cycle if it was available in late November or early December, but would be useful if available as late as February 2011.
