i.MX515 Project
Port Mer to i.MX515 netbook platformin category Linux Distributions
proposed by Luke-Jr on 12th September 2009 (accepted on 1st September 2010)
Project Summary
Mer is a new Linux-based operating system derived from Nokia's Maemo platform used by their Nseries Internet Tablets. This port aims to implement support for Mer on the emerging i.MX515 platforms using only free software.
While Mer supports Nokia's older N8x0 models which are 2D only, some of the new Fremantle-generation features require 3D acceleration. Specifications and/or drivers for the OpenGL ES support would benefit this area and put the i.MX515 on par with the N900 and SmartQ ports.
If there are any WiFi, 3G, or Bluetooth chipsets planned to be recommended/used in conjunction with this SoC in production netbooks, including those would allow me to ensure they work with the Mer port as well.Project Blog Entries

Well, I just noticed the port is approved-- didn't get any email or package yet, but I suppose it will come eventually and I can start getting Mer up and running. Don't know yet what hardware (other than the SoC of course) the board will have or what kind of specifications for things will be delivered... Hopefully enough for 3D ;)
