Project Summary

We've been following Pixel Qi's progresses for some times now. Mary Lou's latest blog entry seems very promising. The release of a new generation displays is on the way.

Based on the successful creation a little bit more than 1 year 1/2 ago of a "portable Efika open client prototype", the idea is to keep the same philosophy and get displays from Pixel Qi working with the i.MX515 design board. The clear advantage of this new work over the previous EFIKA + Radeon setup is that SoCs like the i.MX family are clearly designed for driving bare flat panels.

Early hardware testing should be straight forward thanks to Tiny.

Documentation requirements:

i.MX515 timings generator + partial 2D subsystem (accessing the 4 planes).

Pixel Qi display specifications and a direct contact.
