Project Proposal
From first hand experience I know that children between 2 years of age and 4 years of age are best served in edutainment by a tablet computer. I have tried that on each of my three children.

The problems with giving a child a tablet computer for learning are.
The computer is expensive.
The computer is heavy.
The computer is very breakable.

This can all be solved by using a low powered touch netbook style computer running on a cheaper platform than atom based computers.

The target software to be developed will be a gnash client ( open source flash ) running on Linux with a tablet that has a cheap medium res, touch screen with a battery that can power up the device for just a little more than an hour.

Gnash will be used to give both freedom and the ability to customize and fine tune its footprint and its ability to work on multiple languages in Linux. ( Flash on Linux has some problems on languages like Arabic and Hebrew ).

A wifi connection will be the main source for new content which will be be available through an online portal for a monthly fee.
