OK, the addition of an FPGA to the EFIKA design will make this project a lot easier. Remember that this project is in essence a reworked version of a previous product of ours. Back then it was based on a 32Bit microcontroller, but with the 5200B and the FPGA we can do more than a redesign, and allow for more features and more Power! The added FPGA gives us all the I/O we could possibly dream of.
What is working right now:
- GSM send SMS or Missed-Call in case of alarm, with each event (fire, break-in, etc.) having a different type of response.
- Off-site and On-Site storage of events in a database (off-site service provided by ourselves or any other third party with the necessary credentials)
- Configuration through secured internet connection possible.
- Configuration through mobile phone with CallerID identification and/or password.
Planned/in development:
- Pre recorded messages for different events which can be phoned to the recipient.
- Involvement of police/fire department/medics in case of certain events; for instance the fire department will be contacted as soon as a fire has been detected by the system: no more waste of time.
- Integration with home nursing systems in order to report events to medical instances.
- Video and audio reporting of events.
- much more
Johan.
