Efika 5200B Project
Commodore 65 (and others) realized

in category Applications & Software
proposed by ccureau on 16th February 2006 (accepted on 7th October 2006)
Project Summary
The goal of this project is to design a hardware and software solution that allows for anyone to own a Commodore 65. The Commodore 65 was never officially produced by Commodore, though there are about 10 known prototypes that exist around the world. After successfully completing the Commodore 65, the project will be expanded to support additional systems as the need arises. This is different from traditional system emulation in that the \'operating environment\' will be highly specialized to provide services that are as close to the actual hardware as possible.

got an email from Matt Sealey at Genesi USA over the weekend...and while not totally unexpected, still a bit disappointing. When my company makes a promise, we deliver...

I think you should try looking elsewhere for now. We're planning the
second model of Efika (and some other things) which will go into a new
program but we don't really have a date for when this will happen
and won't be doing anything with the old boards for now.

Sorry.

Well, it's now 2007...Happy New Year! Unfortunately, three months have passed and we still have no hardware to work with. The last time I mailed to ask, I was told to make sure my mailing address was correct, as shipments were imminent...I'll send another mail along, just for good measure...

I've got my hands on an entire collection of schematics and documents related to the Commodore 65...well, at least the ones that exist in the world. Many thanks to Jani Kuituniemi (Nalle_) for his contributions to the project! :)
