Project Summary
My idea is to build an car on-board information system, including driving conditions information (speed, RPMs, temperatures, fuel level, etc), GPS navigation and - optionally - multimedia system such as MP3 plater, radio receiver etc.Hardware architecture is designed as an distributed system with low-cost-and-energy nodes, build using ATMEL AVR microcontrollers and one RISC-based, powerful HMI (Human to Machine Interface) with 2 LCD (or similar) displays. All nodes are connected with CAN and LIN industrial networks.
Linux-powered EFIKA board would be this main-controller node.
