Low power instrument controller for Oceanographic researchin category Hardware

Project Summary
Monitoring of the environment, specifically the oceans is becoming important as issues like global warming and species monitoring are facing us. I would propose to use the controller to evaluate it\'s suitability for use both as an instrument controller, utilising the PCI and USB host capability to add multiple interfaces for existing serial instruments, as well as a platform for developing new sensor network applications. As part of the evaluation/implementation, enhanced power management techniques would be developed as the system would most likely be battery powered.Project Blog Entries
