As far as I remember, Amigas have been used in TV-Channels for many purposes. Scala running on Amigas was very popular due to its smooth scrolling. And it was the Amiga which displayed the channel logo. I hear that there are still Amigas used today in some TV-Channels in my country.

Besides, the Video Toaster and Video Toaster Flyer allowed NLVE on desktop Amigas.

But the things I mentioned above took advantage of Amiga's custom chipsets and PAL/NTSC output.

Today the keywords are Avid, IE1394, DV, HDV, Final Cut etc. Are we sure that Efika can handle all of this?

And, the steel case in 5,25" format. Are we sure this can be manufactured at 7-8 USD cost?

Or am I getting the whole picture wrong?

But now peoples want use for this more power machine thats not eats more energy and have small form factor for mobility. With efika and some kind of UPS for energy support we may done fast mobility system that can do nonlinear video editing without any electrical energy as fast as possible.
Ever heard of laptops?!

The most part of the television companies in our country uses in the work for nonlinear video edition Adobe Premiere, thus the basic functional programs did not vary a little the last the version, the truth the requirements necessary for normal functioning of the program constantly increase. Presence in Linux programs of nonlinear video edition on the general functional in what not conceding Adobe Premiere, data of the purposes will allow us to use Efika for performance. Unfortunately, bottleneck Efika there is a general size of operative memory. But, by skilful optimization of work of operational system probably enough comfortable work in the given programs. Thus in the given project use also programs for work with graphics and a sound is supposed.
Some words about the price for the external steel case for Efika, presented to the project. The cost price of manufacture of the case represented in figure at present makes approximately 8$. If to add the absent forward panel on which sockets of Efika will be deduced, and also a place for installation videocards, a socket of the feed, operating buttons and light-emitting diodes, and also a demountable top cover of the case the cost price will make nearby 12$.
Yours faithfully.

Yes, certainly.
Power consumption of modern portable computers makes from 80W and above. Thus it represents enough the closed system as a whole. In a reality, the storage battery suffices on the average at 3 hours.
Power consumption of Efika it is not enough. An opportunity of a variation in use of accessories. Also that the most important, an opportunity of an effective utilization in a combination to the solar battery. I worked many years on TV and the operating time of the storage battery of portable computer is frequent enough is a determinative by operative preparation of the finished shooting material in an ether. In fact I mean nonlinear video edition not only works with video fragments, but also development graphics and work with musical inserts. In the given project I wish to show, that much can be made from this on such to the baby as Efika.
Yours faithfully.

No they don't. Most laptops (up to 15.4" in size) are delivered with a
65W external powerbrick. And since we never get 100% efficiency, but
more like 85% which is a maximum output of 55W.

55W with 15.4" TFT-screen, SATA-harddrive, graphics card and a
2+ GHz Core2Duo. A modern laptop consumes only marginally more
power than an equally equipped EFIKA does.

But is maybe 10-15 times faster.
