The first EFIKA will be available for some time, but we are headed to the next one with more of an emphasis on the final product.

this small hint kind of implys your thinking (11g+/11N/WiMax) wireless product..... :D
as a side note for now, it would be nice if you can find a way into this market with the right base as per my many other posts.
have a read of these to see product thats taken onboard much of what and why i see massive untaped global 11N/WiMax, AVC/H.264 etc markets that perhaps Efika2 and higher rated chipsets in later product can tap and become mainstream......
and are the members ready to supply their software products/idea's..., time to start work and PR Ideas perhaps....
also a related/linked long term thought, i wonder if theres a need for a seperate development of a cheaper (wireless)video expander come upscaler as the current products are far to pro set, and hence expensive for the average guy.

theres a market for that im sure, with AVC, DVB-H and HD everything finally taking off now, but can/will a way be found to use PPC/FPGA to leverage that end user market, and have R&B etc, thought about that market in collaberation with other projects and companys?

"A Wireless Dream? Pace Micro Shows Wi-Fi-WiMax Combo To The Home

WiMax to the home linked with Wi-Fi in the home is a consumer's dream. Pace Micro Technology has teamed up with two Israeli firms to demonstrate that the dual wireless technologies can be successfully combined.
Pace said Friday the demo proves that the pay TV industry will be able to make use of the two wireless technologies to
expand their delivery and service options.
Using a server in a home that connects wirelessly to an external WiMax base station, video and data broadband content can be delivered to Wi-Fi-enabled devices like set-top boxes, mobile phones, and PCs, Pace said.

Pace Micro Technology plc is demonstrating how 802.16 delivery to the home can be combined with 802.11 distribution in the home, to provide operators with a truly wireless content delivery solution and expand their service footprint.
This demonstration highlights the opportunities available to operators who embrace the WiMAX standard.
Using fixed wires access (FWA) systems, cable operators can expand their footprint to new subscribers without the need to lay new cables.
Satellite operators can provide a full triple-play package by using WiMAX to deliver fast broadband to subscribers who may otherwise be too far away from an exchange to benefit fully from high bandwidth DSL.
Telcos can use WiMAX to provide a full digital service – incorporating video, data and voice – to potential customers, giving them a different business model and opportunity to compete with the more traditional operators.
The demonstration consists of a server unit in the home, which connects wirelessly to an external WiMAX base station using Pace’s ‘Connections Suite software’ – which has been entirely developed at Pace.
This server unit then delivers broadband content – either video or data or both – to clients around the home, including set-top boxes, mobile phones and PCs, using WiFi.

Envivio Inc. and broadcast infrastructure provider National Grid Wireless are teaming up to deliver streamed TV, alongside VoIP and data, across a WiMAX network.
The network, which uses a full head-end with an Envivio Mobile TV encoder, will be available throughout the RAI Congress Centre during IBC2007 from September 7 – 11, 2007. Deploying the open systems-based solution enables mobile WiMAX operators to reach the three screens of video – TVs, PCs and mobile phones – and supports a variety of revenue generating business models by providing subscribers with anytime, anywhere connection capabilities.
From 3G to xDSL to WiMax, the Envivio mobile to HD encoders make video a reality over any type of network and to any multimedia device.
Supporting a wide range of network protocols, resolutions, codecs, bit rates and devices, Envivio convergence solutions, like the one featured with National Grid Wireless at IBC2007, deliver industry leading video quality at the lowest bit rate enabling operators to reduce their operational costs while offering subscribers compelling video services.
