Hi, I try to connect my existing PS2 keyboard and PS2 mouse to Efika using a USB to PS2 adapter (see Pic). It does not seem to work. Efika boots and OF falls to command prompt but I can only type one single letter and it is over.



Has anyone tried one of these and made it work? Maybe mine is not working?

However, there is no explanation why it is not working. I went out and bought single USB-to-PS2 converters (see picture)



this time things got worse. No OF command prompt at all. Just the blue b and blinking cursor.

I wish someone could bring an explanation why these standard USB-to-PS2 converters wouldn't work with Efika.

probably for the same reason that a lot of usb keyboards don't work as well.
maybe it will be fixed in a next OF upgrade ?

yesterday I tested exactly that converter and it seems to work.

Maybe you should try out with a different keyboard.

did you test the dual one or the single one?

It looks like some keyboards work and some not (even if they are "real" USB devices). If you try to connect a PS2 using a converter, you are in deeper trouble.

I confirm that following keyboards do not work when used with a converter (both single and dual):

A4-Tech KL-7MU (PS2):
Single converter: No OF command prompt at all
Dual converter: OF command prompt, but can type a single letter then locks up.

Whitetech (PS2): same symptoms.

Had no problems with a real USB Logitech Wireless Keyboard.
