Hi,

After several hours of work (fighting with the EDID standard...), I finally get my "home made" WVGA screen with DVI interface working on the EFIKA.

My custom DVI-Interface (+ display driver) is plugged on a RADEON 9250 and send a digital RGB signal to a bare TFT Panel. The result is very good, and the picture quality is awesome.

All related hardware, software and pictures are available on my website.

To get optimal performances with the EFIKA, I’ve set up Directfb and also SDL which uses Directfb as video driver.

Here are some quick links to pictures...

... and videos.

SDL parallax scrolling demo

I do apologize for the bad quality of the pictures...

Hardware projects are alive. ;-)

Hi.

Excellent work!

It's something I'm doing for my project (http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/project/efika/60) as well.

Didn't get to this stage yet though, some other stuff is taking up all my time...

Best regards,
Johan

Cool work. I am in need of something similar, too. Currently I use some Kontron board to drive my 10" displays. But this is not optimal in many regards.
Unfortunately there is too less time, too less knowledge, so it'll take some more time to show something.

PurpleAlien, zylesea, my work is yours ;-)

It's an open hw project and there is (almost) no limitation to use it as a basis for your own project. I've just started the design of the final board. I try to keep the development quality close to a real product conception but I only plan to make up to 5 prototypes for the moment (for costs and technical reasons).

Nevertheless, anybody who wants to support/help in any way is welcome.

Like you, time is the critical parameter since I'm also very busy at work. That's the reason why I don't want to give a date. I do my best...

I like this project and I think this kind of (cost effective) small screen can be very usefull to set up a compact full featured solution with the EFIKA. This small PowerPC board is a perfect solution for building a "monitoring device" in a lab, a factory or even at home. The EFIKA is small, low power and cheap.
