Work on CDGA2 is almost finished.
Some artworks are not finished yet & there's still some room for additional games, but i think it'll be done in one week.
So if you know good games which are neither on cdga1 nor on
bottom cdga2-list, feel free to post them here.
The hd (or usb-stick) containing (optionally) the main configuration-files can be set via commandline.
Tested on a 512MB Peg2 with Radeon9000pro & on a
standard ODW.

That is great Marcel. We saw this yesterday:

http://www.xgamestation.com/view_produc ... mg_index=0

We wonder if there is not something like this to be done with the EFIKA, old Amiga games and MorphOS and/or something with the EFIKA + Linux.

R&B :)

cdga2 is finished!
I filled the remaining space left with some more hi-quality games.
It'll be on the way to gunne per snailmail
for upload on pegasos.org soon.

The game-development kit is indeed a nice idea for the efika ;)

releasedate is delayed for some days:
I'm waiting for my new gfx-card for the efika (should be here later this week) to test my cdga2-efika-kernel with it.
cdga2 works very nice as a liveimage from hd,
so no need to burn it :)
Added some more games including OpenArena! :)

I tried hard to get cdga2 running on Efika.
It finds the cdga2-squashimage without problems from hd
& boots up quiet nice, but as soon as X should initialize it
hangs. I also tried with an installed version but there's the
same error.
So the bad thing is I'll need to make a seperate efika version,
the good thing is that i can bundle the release now

Hi Marcel !

I was wondering how you were doing your Pegasos->Efika port of CDGA2.
Are you just compiling the same stuff twice, by just changing the make.conf CFLAGS or do you have setup a specific crossdev environement ?

New thread for this question:
Compiling from Pegasos to Efika...

It's up on www.pegasos.org !
Have much fun with playing! :D

btw:
one little glitch i noticed after having send it out:
if you use the same hd-partition for the liveimage and the
config-tgz the configs can't be saved as the hd was mounted
ro.
So if you want to save your configs on shutdown either use a a different partition for cfg or if you really have to use the same partition remount it rw.

sorry for having to dissapoint you - it doesn't work
on the efika.
i think about an efika-compatible "best-of-cdga" though :)

Thanks, I'm downloading it and also seeding it from a high speed net. I just hope, that I'll have some time to test it. I have not played anything for a long time...

As I briefly red from the documentation, CDGA has not been tested on Pegasos I. I own one of these (with april2 patch), equipped with a Radeon 9250 (256MB). CDGA boots very fine, and I can see a lot of things going on pretty well in the log. But it stops, with a "system halted", right after the X server complains about not having some screen mode set.
Can I find help any document about this issue? Or will it be too much trouble, being a Pegasos I?
I guess I should modify the contents of the CD, and burn again. Can I do this with my ordinary PC with an... ordinary operating system?
By the way, being CDGA only available as a torrent, I was forced to download first a torrent client for my PC. At the first try, I got to this absolutely lovely "uTorrent" program: 173KB, no install needed, gorgeous looks, worked at first try!

Hello jcmarcos!

It's interesting to hear that you get so far on a Pegasos1.
Its very likely that the included xorg.conf simply doesn't work
on your Peg1.
You can find it within cdga2/cfg.tar.gz.
So if you open the tgz & replace the xorg.conf with a pegasos1-compatible one you might be able to use the cdga2.
(does GL work on Peg1? - if no it might be enough to remove the
glx & dri modules from the included one)
good luck! ;)
