Hello we made a testing kernel for debian. As small as possible and fast. There is only a support for integrated EFIKA hardware, suitable mostly for 50% of all users.

and install it with a command like here:

# dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.19.2-light_2.6.19.2-light-1.0_powerpc.deb

If you wish to have a sound support, you need add rows below to /etc
modules
snd-mpc52xx-ac97
snd-pcm-oss

After some time I will post here a bigger kernel with support for other hardware.
