Good! We probably need to add a Project Update section. :)

We will write something today related to this...

nice to see Mesh being thought about and used in projects.

as per my comments in the other thread, there does indeed exist a re-programmable wifi chip
http://www.analogzone.com/iop_1211.htm
"PRoC LP delivers up to a 1 Mbps data-rate"

alas its not 11N or even 11G/11b but i mention it here incase it may be useful to readers looking for low bitrate (relative to the near future needs).

i think its a shame that noone seems to be working with/considering writing a generic tcp:ip/udp mesh
in rebol script as i beleave that would open up a multitude of options down the line for cross-platform (personal)use, so again i mention it for consideration at least.

it thought this was quite funny too 8)

"Yes. Instead of sinister government agencies creating SkyNet and the Terminators, it will apparently be some jackass in a garage working on a Roomba.

I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords."

[Edit]
on a quick look it seems there is at least one re-programable 11b(perhaps higher?) chip company
SandblasterÔ

http://www.sandbridgetech.com/documents ... r_2005.pdf

i find it hard to understand why there doesnt seem to be any PPC based cores that can now do (pre)11N/Wimax, ill keep looking though 8|

if SOC is the future why cant we get a PPC SOC with generic (reprogramable)11G+ alongside the other goodys today (perhaps their not listening)....

yet another growing market i keep mentioning is solar-powered (id supplement it with small wind power as well though for night)stand alone kit, WiFi efika etc so you might want to take a quick look at this blog
http://www.dailywireless.org/category/solar/

roofnet is such a cool idea that exists TODAY, make yours a reality too.
http://www.dailywireless.org/2006/08/04 ... fnet-wiki/
"The unit is powered by a 10 watt solar panel. Green WiFi nodes can be deployed on rooftops to form a self-healing network that hops the source signal over a virtual 802.11b/g grid. All that is required is a single source of broadband access."

we will get there one day if the blinkers come off as regards base/generic options for your growing new markets... ONE DAY.
