As some of you guys may already be aware of there is a
problem with the Linux-kernel from version 2.6.17 and
upwards. There is an issue for us with a Pegasos and
using the nullmodem connected to the serial port (not
using any USB-adapters).

* 2.6.18-r1 and 2.6.19-r1 to my EFIKA in 115200 8N1 is just a mess
* 2.6.19-r1 in 9600 8N1 works just fine to my Sun Ultra1.
* 2.6.16-r13 worked with 15200 8N1 to my EFIKA.

This issue affects when I connect to another Pegasos
as well. I would guess it affects all devices that
want 115200 since 9600 to my Sun Ultra1 worked fine.

So I have set up a poll where you can vote if you have
any problems just to see how big of a problem this really
is. Does it stall any EFIKA development?.. This question
is probably the most important one. Did anyone get their
EFIKA and is dependant on working serial and then it
doesn't? Would that stall his development? Probably!

If you have anything to add to your vote, please comment.

If we can narrow down this issue as much as possible maybe
we can all do something about it. I am no programmer! :)

Oops!

I forgot one option:
I have no problems with my Pegasos/PowerPC.

Please put that under 'Other' and comment. :)

Although not in your poll, just wanted to say that no problems at all with a serial connection to my A3000 with Term in 115200.

Havent tried connecting the efika to my 2.6.18 x86 box, can try if you like.

Please try your x86. I think it will work though.

Yes, I get the same. Booting is OK if you are patient
and know your system. If you don't know where in your
tree your devices are located it's alot harder..
