Hi.

I've ordered one of these myself:

In the mean time I told some students to make one themselves in the lab :-)

Best regards,

Once I get a board, I plan on doing the same thing, but with a 2.5 gig microdrive

Hmm... intensive r/w cycles (swapping for example) may destroy the flash card (but not microdrive imho)

Hi.

Well, you wouldn't really want to use a CF disk as swap. But a small embedded system doesn't need it in the first place. If you want to run 'heavy' applications that require swapspace, a microdrive or even a normal laptop HD is the better option.

Best regards,
Johan

Yeah, quite nice.

With MorphOS not even one write cycle is required unless the user saves something. (80 MB system memory is unused after loading the full desktop with skin and backdrop)

So even my 512MB card would be enough unless I want to store my music on Efika.

Well, with such card network storage is the best, for sure.

I guess those card / card reader have (again) some silly size limitions!?

Since the prices are falling day by day CF (and other flash media) get more and more attractive, so it won't be long until we see 32 or 64 GB card you won't need to sell your home to afford them.
