Recently my Debian in my Peg 2 crashes a lot. Maybe due to the last upgrade? I just upgraded some gnome packages and alsa.

I get a Kernel Panic: Buffer Overflow or something like that, so everything freezes, and the music stays in an annoying loop...

Since the only thing I can do is to turn the power off, can someone tell me how can I check later on who caused the crash?

I had this krash with 2.6.10 kernel and probs with 2.6.6 - turns out my CPU fan was dead - you may want to check this also bad or not inserted fully ram..

It seems some of the crashes may be due to the overheat. My G3 has no fan, and the minuet tower has no proper ventilation... I took out the cover of the tower and the temperature lowered around 10 degrees!

Now I put the cover back again, but changed the position to vertical, and it doesn't seem to heat up that much. (at this moment the CPU is at 54.5 C)

I bought the Pegasos in the first place because of the "cool computing" ^^;

Well it is cool computing - any electronic system needs some sort of cooling/air ventilation though.. this means proper air movement in the box. YOu can always get a cheap pci fan to exhaust the heat inside or really silent fans to put inside or something... this may cause your kernel crashing..

also aluminm case is better than plastic for obvious reasons
