They raise the board by only 5 mm. They fit perfectly!

This is a very good item that would make many "containers" potential cases. We may have to start shipping these with the board as an option.

Good job Kristian!

Other places these things can be found:
rs-components
farnell.com (or newark.com for the USA)

5mm may be to much. As I already used a 5 1/4" case for my Efika, you only have 42mm in height, while the Efika consumes 38mm with a Radeon9200SE.

We used a isolating layer, screws and a few distance rings to fix the board inside.

You can get these in Germany too.

http://www.reichelt.de
http://www.conrad.de

They're called "Abstandshalter selbstklebend"

Local electronic stores often have them too.

As I don't speak german, I'm afraid they send me a pizza instead :-)

Thanks for all those info... (EFIKA book growing ;-) )

PS : does someone know how "Abstandshalter selbstklebend" is called in english or french ?
Is it "Spacer self adhesive" ? (I don't think so).

That might be helpful to google.

farnell calls them SUPPORT PCB 1/4" PK25, but perhaps it makes more sense to search for the Manufacturer Part Number: LCBSB-4-01A

The drive case is good idea, but how about a case intended for a small system board? Actually several cases... These guys cater to the EPIA and related crowd, so the biggest problem I see is the back-plate. Check out the mini case and the mini-max at solarpc:

They also have power supplies and other goodies.

Because a drive case the Efika will fit almost exactly inside with very little wasted space.

With a Mini-ITX case, you will have space for a whole other Efika to one side, and possibly another nearer the front. You can't plug in a laptop CDROM drive so all the expansion 'potential' is wasted..
