Their exhibit hall is full though. But an EFIKA conference
would need a seperate room like we had on eSNDF.

So, is it final? Austin then? I'd much rather go for somewhere in the EU, like Frankfurt, but if it's a closed deal, how do we request travel sponsorship?

Hi.

I like the FOSDEM idea!
It's been several years since I had the chance to be at FOSDEM (since I moved to Finland). It's a great event.
Also much easier to travel to, from within Europe, but also from outside of Europe. Brussels is a nice place to visit as well, and the rest of Belgium is also easily accessible by public transport.

That, and it would allow me to go visit my parents again :D


EDIT:
Since there is a call for papers, academics could easily try to get some papers accepted and published. Would be nice to have a paper there about EFIKA or related topics.

FOSDEM is pretty easily accessable by
everyone in Europe. All major cities
have flights to Brussels.

But, I would like to know if there will
be a conference at FOSDEM or not. And
pretty soon. Flight tickets get more
expensive every day..

It will not be at FOSDEM. We are still trying to figure out if we can even manage to squeeze in a desk in a hallway at this point.
