... can't you change it back to what it was like before? With a clear and tidy list of forum threads at the top?

I actually think it's difficult to read the front page now, it's only a lot of clutter, and I think too much attention is being given to the news. The news aren't updated that frequently anyway, so ...

I think the layout of the front-page was better before! Only my humble opinion though! :-)

We are still experimenting with a few ideas. We appreciate the feedback. Any one else?

I agree with takemehomegrandma:
the forum overview was better before.

I am thinking about improving this so the news goes in a sidebar (below the login box) and the forums take up the whole top of the page again, to give more space.

I don't think the "Topics Anywhere" suited our purpose but all the information that it is pasting up in the forum block now is ALL of the useful information that was being displayed before (link to the post, the user, the forum, the date) it's just in a different format.

I think it's a LOT clearer displayed now but it can obviously be tweaked. I would love some ideas on this as anything I think of, someone will always disagree. What other data do you want and what do you REALLY miss from the old box (take MorphZone's list as an example of how it used to be..)

[edit about 30 seconds later]

How do you think it looks now?

It looks OK. I'm not sure about our real names
on the front page though (post writer)..

What's wrong with your real name?

Linus Torvalds, Benjamin Herrenschmidt etc. are much more recognisable as real names than they would be as esoteric nicknames.

If you get a job hint because of your projects or work or forum posts here, are they going to call you ironfist for the contract? :)

I think it gives the site a more professional feel. If you don't want to have your full name there, remove it from the Profile, but then we can't ship you your Efika. Take it or leave it :)

Well, "take it or leave it" might not convey the right tone, but we agree with Matt. Better to be who you are and use your real name than some nom de plume for the Internet only. Anonymity could be important for someone working at IBM who has been hired as a Linux contributor, but who leads a secret online life as a hacker. :) We have a few of those! However, we think the full name and contact information is the best approach. We can write more on this another time.

R&B :)

Much better! :-)

Hmm, maybe you should be a little less "excessive" when it comes to bold text however? And *if* you should use bold text, maybe use it on thread titles rather than forum names? And perhaps "7 replies total" instead of the authors of the last post? Again, only some thoughts, I have no idea how it will look ... :-)

OK, something completely different - guess if I was surprized when I got home today and found out I had gotten my Power.org T-shirt delivered! :-)

I guess I entered a few too many X's in front of the L though! :-P OK, I am 190cm tall and weights in at a little more than 100Kg, and when I buy shirts in Sweden I can buy 4XL sizes and they are still too small. But all those must be made in China or something, and I guess there is a difference in *american* X's! ;-) Anyway, I am very happy about it! I like T-shirts! :-)

BBRV/Neko:
I understand what you mean. I have no problems with my
name, but maybe others have. Guess they can leave it
out from their profiles.

Unfortunatly spammers don't leave their real name and address :)
http://www.powerdeveloper.org/forums/vi ... =5800#5800
You may want to remove that, since it also shows up on the homepage.

I've noticed an increase in spam here lately. If I can help out in anyway (notifying a moderator or even help moderating), please let me know.
