I haven't posted much here mainly because I don't own a Genesi-made machine or anything similar, but I do think it's a great community which is why I continue to visit. For the Ubuntu team to drop support for the PowerPC would be a horrible decision IMO, even if it doesn't garner as much attention to them (or others) as the x86 ports.
Maybe there might be some way to get the
gNewSense guys to continue the PowerPC port that Ubuntu is thinking of dropping? I currently use Ubuntu on a few PowerPC Macs that I have at work and home and would hate to see this disappear as Ubuntu is a great distro. And for non-Apple PowerPC hardware it would probably be even worse. Sure, there are other distros supporting PPC but the more the better, and Ubuntu and its siblings has the right mix IMO.
