if it's
http://www.clarynx.com/cgi_bin/ReadGene ... nesi175660

it doesn't work for me. Firefox told me to install Real Player plugin 10.5 It's not enough with mplayer-plugin?

Some web contents are still out of reach for Linux PPC. Pplz should use more open codecs and stuff (please, stop WM9 and WM10 !!!)

Hawk, that is it...

What would you recommend we suggest to Clarynx so that we could reach more PowerPC, Linux, open source software users?

Thanks for your feedback.

Well, helix is supposed to work well on powerpc, we need to package it, there
has already been some effort that way, but i don't know what happened to it.

helix is real's free player, so it should be ok.

The main problematic points for ppc browsing is : java and flash.

The rest should be ok.

Friendly,

Sven Luther

You can play the audio sample using a RealPlayer 10.x snapshot for Linux/PPC available here: http://forms.helixcommunity.org/helix/b ... lay-stable

I'll see if I can get this into Gentoo portage as soon as possible.

I tried installing it. It install a plugin for mozilla / firefox. But the plugin complains:

"Couldn't find an appropiate hxplay or realplay in the system path"

I checked RealPlayer/Bin and it's empty. Don't know exactly how this works, but I can't bother to expend time on this .... ^^;

oggvorbis, mp3, or any format that works in xmms and/or beep-media-player would be cool. What about a Genesi internet radio server? ;)

cu!

I downloaded the tar.bz2 and ran ./Bin/setup to install it. After that it worked. I have also created an ebuild, but I'm not sure if it will be included in portage yet. Apparently there were some problems with video content.

What's the echo in the background? I could barely understand the voice... ^^;

About the conectEE project, sorry I forgot to translate to Japanese the "Join Us" section. I was busy with my thesis. Should I check it now?

That would be great, as we are going ahead with this project. It will not start until the summer, but the MOU with MIT is being finalized now. There was a proceedure we had to go through and we had the December/January break in between. We will be getting a letter out to all our translators as soon as we are ready to adjust the text. In the meanwhile, this page will not change so please send it over. Thanks!

Raquel and Bill :-)

P.S. We updated the blog too - http://bbrv.blogspot.com/ :-D
