Your best bet, I believe, will be Dallas/Ft. Worth. That's where all my international flights out of Texas leave.

Both Houston and Dallas are very close to Austin, with Houston being a little closer. By the way, Austin does have an International Airport with major national flights landing there from various locations around the US.

Austin seems like the perfect location for this... especially since I'm only a couple of hours away :D. It will be great to be able to attend this conference.

Personally I would pick Houston if you have a choice. It is a MUCH nicer airport to wander around in between flights.

Dallas is a horrible concrete sprawl and you need to spend 15 minutes in a airport shuttle bus between terminals.

If you want to hire a car and drive; it's 5 hours from Dallas to Austin. It's about 3 from Houston to Austin. Save some gas! Pick Houston! :)

I am from Houston (UH). The international airport of Houston (IAH) is in north houston, so you donot need to go through Houston downtown (the traffic is not good) to drive to Austin. It is also a nice drive from Houston to Austion on highway 290, beautiful country view.

Oh, Matt, I agree; Houston is VASTLY superios. I absolutely hate Dallas/Ft. Worth. It's just that I've taken many more flights out of Dallas due to the huge American terminal there. :)

Anyways, if I do come, I will most likely drive.

Austin is quite some distance away for us Europeans (well of course also for all other non Americans). What about something similar in good old Europe. Germany would be a quite good choice - not too far from the East or West, nor South or North.
