You are going to stop being nice? When did you start? Nobody is saying its a "give away", how silly.
Do you really think that just because it is ONLY $299, that you don't need to make an effort to justify getting a board?

Guess what? One of the main reasons I never submitted a proposal was that i'm sure YOU would shoot it down
If it's a good project, it would be approved. If not, yeah I will shoot it down just like I did jjw's 3-line quicky.

If your project requires MorphOS, you may as well just forget it. We are going to unapprove all of them for the time being because the support structure isn't there to.. support them. They can be resubmitted some other time, but not for this round.

Indeed, and most are approved, but we took into account who submitted it on most of them (if Ben Herrenschmidt or a Sun Labs employee posts a one-liner, we can be sure there is something great behind that one line).

No offense but I have no idea who you are so a better description would be easier to approve.
OK, credibility is always an important factor, but the particular project has to be evaluated, not the person :)

It is definitely not easy to take a decision according to a very short or unclearly written proposal (I'm acting as a referee sometimes), therefore a sufficient elaboration (background, rationale, etc.) should be required in my opinion, maybe even in some standarized (online) form to facilitate the evaluation.

Your new submission was great. It doesn't take much effort to justify your reasoning.
Thank you very much, also for the PCI info,

Matt

I really think you should try to stem your emotions when you are a company representative moderating these boards, its rather unprofessional and reflects badly on genesi when you have "outbursts" and make negative assumptions. Especially to the people who keep those boards alive.

First of all those boards dont cost Genesi $299 that is the retail price. Additionally, I never implied any of the things you are making me out to have said.

Secondly, Genesi ultimately benifits in that they get a whole showcase for their new product and a bunch of geeks working away for no pay.

Third, I would not base my project on Morphos as CLEARLY there is no agreement in place for MOS on EFIKA and WILL NOT be unless certain conditions. I know more about this than you do probably.

And lastly, I think its a very generous program from Genesi just as it was generous with the ODW program. However, the street runs both ways, with both parties benifiting.

PS I have an "outside of the box" proposals for Efika, but with you being the principle deciding yea or nay I highly doubt i'd get apporved due to your personal politics. You would think that with all my previous work and promotion of the Pegasos that I would automatically be asked to participate as a matter of course... one would think..

Matt hasn't misrepresented the company any ways. He has told the truth, albeit in a blunt manner, but the truth.

Please, pause your propensity for argument for a more important topic.

I dont have a "propensity for argument" unless provoked. The manner in which Neko treats questions is rather arrogant and heavy handed and it gets tiresome.

If you have a problem with Neko's post take it
with him personally instead of polluting this
thread. The PM function is there for a reason..

[edited by administrator]

So, like Bill just said; Enough!.

No it isn't. I disabled private messaging.

Just to clarify, no MorphOS projects please, and please make an effort. If Thomas wants to submit something he may, but he should not take it personally if it gets denied. I am sure he will come up with some conspiracy theory that I am out to get him and deprive him of an Efika he so sorely thinks he deserves, but I am prepared to accept that and delete any post in which he complains ;)

Just enter it into your profile.

I do not want my address to be publicly viewable. Where in the profile should I enter it to make sure it is not visible for everyone?
Hi Krashan,

Sorry I took so long to reply; there is an "Edit Profile" link on the Projects site, under your "you are logged in as" text.

This is in the database with your Forum account but it's only pulled out when yourself, or an admin (that's me or Bill currently, we don't use PHPBB groups to specify it, it's tied to our logins) looks.

Freescale/MobileGT pay a price for the board to sponsor you. It is not BOM cost. You are costing them money at the end of the day, not Genesi, if your project proposal is weak.

Remember this is NOT a giveaway, it is a sponsored developer program. There are rules; ones we haven't written down on the website because I thought they were pretty obvious. They will be soon though, as it seems that most people have trouble writing more than a sentence as project proposal, and think just for writing 2 lines they will get $300 worth of hardware and technical support for absolutely nothing.

It costs Genesi money to run the program, too. Who do you think pays my salary? How long do you think it took to write the website, and then the time it took to review all the projects?

Ah. So, because we get something out of it, you can do what you like, get free boards paid for by Freescale, and you don't think you need to make ANY effort to justify it beyond saying "I want a free board so I can do [add 5 more words]"?

That just isn't how it works, Thomas.

How do I close a project?

My project was titled "IEEE 1588 Iplementation". My project was approved, but I have other hardware in place now and do not need to receive an EFIKA.

So unless someone else is interested in taking over the project I would like to close it.

Thank You,
WITTROCK

Please write a note in your Project Blog explaining why.

Better that projects don't die completely, it is useful for people to know what happened to them, rather than us putting them all in the trashcan or hiding them in some never-visited part of the database.

Hmm...maybe I should change my name to "Winston" and have some Victory Vodka.. because its sure starting to feel like "1984" here with the revisionist history.. amazing and sad.

Hi!

http://projects.ppczone.org/projects.php?pending=563

I think that my idea is good, mainly because there is'nt similar project ;) So, i have few questions:
1. What do you think about it?
2. Should i add something more in my project?
3. How much time i must wait to see my project rejected or approved?
4. Have i got any chance to get an Efika?
5. Last but not least, who like quake? ;)
