Dear All,

At my request, Marek Szyprowski kindly made available the source for the ASFS kernel module.

You can now find a tarball at

http://home.elka.pw.edu.pl/~mszyprow/pr ... src.tar.gz

So no need to start digging into Debian source trees, etc.

I haven't yet had a chance to check it out myself but I thought you guys might appreciate knowing.

regards

koan

Thanks koan. The filesystem driver has been an issue. Cool!

R&B :)

Thanks, this is great news! I'll try to compile it with latest SUSE kernel sources.

There is just one last stepp missing: integration to 'official' kernel sources. Without it, this filesystem won't be supported by some of the distributions, which try to remain as close to the Linus tree as possible (like SUSE from v10.0).

Thanks koan for posting the link here!
I'm sure many people can need it :)
The patch applied fine & works good with my 2.6.18 already for a while :)

Dear All,

Please don't thank me - all I did was send Marek an email asking if he can make the source available.

Please send your thanks to him.

@czp
I understand the reasons for not putting this module in
OpenSUSE but it surely is vital for dual-booters like me.

cheers

koan

I'll compile a module for openSUSE development branch, as soon as I can install development tools. Currently installation sources are broken for 'factory' :-(

BTW: does it also compile with earlier kernels? I mean 2.6.16, as that's the one used in openSUSE 10.1. Then I could make the kernel module available for download.

Answering my question:
Code:
CC [M] fs/asfs/super.o
fs/asfs/super.c:91: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
fs/asfs/super.c: In function ‘asfs_get_sb’:
fs/asfs/super.c:454: error: too many arguments to function ‘get_sb_bdev’
fs/asfs/super.c:454: warning: return makes integer from pointer without a cast
fs/asfs/super.c: At top level:
fs/asfs/super.c:460: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
make[2]: *** [fs/asfs/super.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [fs/asfs] Error 2
make: *** [fs] Error 2
So it does not compile without modifications on 2.6.16

Thanks, that compiled fine with the latest SUSE Linux 10.1. Now I need to install MorphOS to test it before making it available for download.
