Can't wait to receive the Efikas. Other parts to build my devices were ordered recently already.

Keep up the good work!

Curiosity strikes! Why do you need to see the memory? :)

So, these are all some very pretty pictures. But the only question that really matters remains unanswered:

When are they shipping?

Shipping order:

1. Customers
2. Free boards

We will work to get #1 as close to #2 as possible.

R&B :)

We are only selling single boards through Freescale at the moment. You can buy one through DevToolDirect. The Part# is PPCG40010. Otherwise, there is the Store at PegasosPPC.

R&B :)

Dust off your plans...

Can you give some more verbose details please? The pics are really nice, but I am hungry for facts.

What are the final dimensions (it is roughly 14x9 cm, but what are the actual numbers?).

How far is this evaluation revision 2.2 away from the release version.
What's the story of that gfx card? Is that a part of the bundle or some generic additional card. Will the gfx feature LVDS out? What happend to the onboard gfx plans?

What is that rather low density 81 hole array good for? low density and 81 pin do not hint to integrated gfx... Is it a small experimental field for evaluation purpose (well, the board is an evaluation revision)?

The boards look very nice. Congratulations on the first run... my main question is what kind of case can you use with this? Looks like it has to be custom to me. Please advise. Thanks

as for cases im planning on purchasing a die cast aluminium box to put it in, but im a bit stumped when it comes to selecting the extra bits and pieces to put in. When i get one (or get sent the pcb designs :) ), i'll post templates for a case.

if you look back a bit further in bbrv's blog there are some mockups for a case for the game dev kit by gunnar

Without the final dimensions, I can only guess, but I think one of these extruded aluminum cases from Hammond would work well.

http://www.hammondmfg.com/1455.htm

They are good looking cases, and can be purchased cheaply in single quantity.

I doubt the board would fit the integrated PCB slots in the side of the case, but an 0.062" thick aluminum or FR4 mounting base can be made to slip into the slots, and the EFIKA could be mounted to this panel. Prevents having to have any aditional exposed screws on the outside of the case, and the thing can just slip out if you need to work on it.

Better yet, it the mounting base can be made 100mmX160mm (eruo-card format), there are a number of manufacturers making extruded aluminum cases which will accomodate this size.

Just an idea....
