after a new install of gentoo2004.3 and a rsync ..and portage update ..i have:

ermerge by path is broken an may not work some times ?``

also how can i use my prebuild packages on CD ans ermerge them
after a rsync ??
i have PKGDIR=/mnt/cdrom/All but always the new packages Blocks the
binary packages.....

When emerging you should run 'emerge <package name>' not 'emerge /usr/portage/<category>/<package>/<package>-<version>.ebuild'.
If you want a specific version run 'emerge "=<package>-<version>"'
If you use 'emerge -K' you will force it to use binary packages over whatever is in portage.

yes but i tried this...and i have always the xorg-x11-2.6.7-r2.tbz2 blocked...
it s crazy case i i try to unermerge ..this is not installed---
so it blocks the package bevore in even have installed this ????

There is no 2.6.7-version of xorg-x11, that sounds more like a kernel version?
Could you please post the output of:
emerge xorg-x11 -vp

i did a fresh portage install...and i remerged xorg-x11 so now it works
