Just for interest: i've browsed MIPS-specific source code in Linux kernel and saw that it also uses the same Marvell chip as Pegasos. Is it really true?
Could there be MIPS CPU cards for Peg in theory? :D

well.. I don't think those CPUs are pin compatible. I would guess they use different voltages, timers, connections etc.

so... I don't this is possible without a board redesign.

but.. maybe someone other knows more :wink:

This isn't really a surprise, is it? I mean, the
Marvell Discovery is made for networking and MIPS
is very often used in network gear..
