yes it does, you should find some tutorials and howtos to install xgl and compiz on Ubuntu PPC. Google is your friend ! (or ubuntu forums)

Did you tried it with your PEG?
Is it fast, or slow?

and felt it realy amazing.

i tried with Suse on my peg and it was working, i had some gfx arctifacts though, it wasn't really stable but pretty smooth. I guess it's because of the open source drivers. I use it on my PC laptop with proprietary aTI drivers and it works very well.

It seems it should work well with bleeding-edge Open Source drivers, if you want to take that risk.

I would love to see the performance of Intel's new open source driver, I'm surprised there hasn't been a big splash about it yet.

As for XGI acceleration, we're still working on that :)
