Argh!

We cannot yet, but we will. This is not just up to us or it would be done.

We apologize for announcing the announcement.

Are you able to leak some of the details a tad early? ie. Hardware interfaces (USB/Flatlink/IDE) and such....

OK. And that is the last remaining thing holding it back now, everything else is solved?

I have been looking at the EFIKA lately becuase I am in need of a development platform for the MCP5200(B). I was happy to learn of the EFIKA Developer Program, and created a project proposal (not approved as yet).

I guess what I'm wondering is... Is it realistic to expect any hardware within say the next 3-4 weeks (if my project is approved) or do I need to look for another board.

Don't get me wrong. I think this development program is a great idea, and who can complain about free hardware. I'm just wondering if I shouldn't rely on the EFIKA hardware coming out soon, and get busy looking for (or making) another board.

Maybe. We are still waiting on those RoHS compliant chips.

Never put all your eggs in one basket :)

Feel free to look for another board, and when the EFIKA is ready you'll get one of those TOO if your project was approved etc.

We're trying to keep you all up to date but when the information and reasons don't change there isn't much point in reminding :)

At Freescale's site I read lead time for the 5200B/400 RoHS is 15 weeks. Are we in week 13 now? Meaning two more weeks (tm) or is a end of waiting foreseeable?

I just received my Lite5200B development board from Freescale today. I ordered the lead free version, so the parts are available anyway (at least for the dev boards they are).

Maybe the EFIKA will be comming along soon? Ah well, I'm not in a hurry anymore as I have this dev board to work with now.

As a side note, I can tell for certain the my board is lead free because the solder joints look terrible

That is great. Best wishes for a solid development.

We are still in a big hurry, but it is not so easy for us. We are still trying to get RoHS compliant components. However, in the meanwhile, we have some features and functions that will make the wait worthwhile.

R&B :)
