We are going to release a trial balloon here. If you live in a country that is positioned below #50 on this list and you qualify as a Genesi Reseller you may be eligible for a new Program Genesi is introducing with funding from a charitable Foundation known for helping out in Emerging Markets.

If you qualify, we will front to you on extended credit terms the EFIKA at $99/unit. Please drop us an email if you are interested.

R&B :)

well, despite the efforts of our government here in France, we are still in the "top 50".
But luckily and with even more efforts we may join the lucky ones soon :-p

@SSQ : Well if you take French Polynesia ( 58 ), Martinique ( 58 ), French Guiana ( 96 ), Guadeloupe ( 101 ) , Reunion ( 120 ) or Mayotte ( 166 ) you're out of "top 50" and you can also see that the governement can shift up the position if needed ;-)
Too bad you won't have your Efika at 99$ until you go to one of those beautiful islands under a big palm and with your feets in the water ;-)

Well, enough about the economic perils faced by those in France! Bon chance!

OK, we have the Foundation set up!

I was thinking about EFIKA regional projects. Make something like ppczone.org and tell developers in our republic, that they can post their projects so we can approve it or not. The goal would be a collection of real solutions ready to offer and production. We would collect all projects, make offers to costumers, maybe even pay developers some percent. It could speed up the whole process of expanding PowerPC to the world.

Well there is not a problem with the top #50 countries contributing to the project; but they will just get ordinary credit terms and have to sell at a higher price. Of course the point is people in the top #50 countries CAN AFFORD IT, and the people in the lower ones simply cannot stretch to a $799 ODW or even a $299 Dell.

We want to get the world connected while still within it's means.
