Pegasos users without (much) previous SUSE experience are WANTED!

The openSUSE project came to an important momentum: SUSE Linux 10.1 RC1 is out. See announcement at http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opens ... /0002.html

I spent countless hours to make it sure, so it has all (known :-) ) Pegasos specific bugs fixed.

I also made a Pegasos specific installation guide available at http://en.opensuse.org/PegasosQuickStart.

To make sure, that the documentation is useful for new commers, I would like to invite members of the Pegasos community to read the installation guide I wrote and install SUSE Linux 10.1 RC1 on your machine!

Please use the CD set for installation, as 'factory' is not yet uptodate.

If you feel unconfortable with bugzilla, or registering yourself on the openSUSE website, please provide feedback here. Other way please take a look at http://en.opensuse.org/Submit_a_Bug

Thanks for your help!

@czp :
Hi !
2 questions :
- Does 10.1 RC1 means it's not a beta anymore ?
- Is the "update" version working now ?

Yes, it't no more beta, but a Release Candidate

No, it update does not work yet :-( It worked in a 'laboratory environment', but large scale testing proved, that there are still a few things to fix for RC2, see http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opens ... /0003.html

'factory' is now updated to the level of RC1 and won't be modified until Monday evening so it can also be used for installation. But only for new installs, as some people reported problems related to upgredes. Hopefully fixed for RC2 :-)
