I am runing a self compiled debian 2.6.9 kernel and have troubles using the IDE1 secondary connector of the Pegasos. (the IDE0 connector works perfectly)

Any device (CD-ROM writer or recent 80GB IDE hard disk) is recognized by the openfirmware but has troubles with linux.

I go in mostly endless loops of DMA problems with any device I attach. The typical error reported by linux is following :

hdc: lost interrupt

I can later mount and access my disk but any command takes something like 15 seconds and finaly ends in a crash of the Pegasos.

I have seen in x86 forums that this might be related to Power Managment settings (ACPI / IRQ) but that can not be the case for the Peg's OpenFirmware I guess.

I have no idea wether this can be hardware related or most probably Linux related.

Could someone help me in here ?

Fred

bunzip2 -c /usr/src/kernel-patches/powerpc/2.6.8/patches/via82cxxx.diff.bz2 | patch -p1
