There were some drastic changes in package management in the last two weeks in SUSE Linux. It's not possible to upgrde from earlier versions to the current beta. A fresh install is needed, but that's a disaster. Just to name a few:

- 256M RAM is not enough, I had to enable swap manually, 343MB is used at the moment

- it randomly selects x86_64 (Opteron) packages for PPC. I hope, that the kernel is for PPC

- etc.

Of course, if you don't mind all of these, you are very welcome to test it and help to make the next release better!

Ps: 455MB of swap is used now...

After more than five hours of fight in Friday night (it's 4:30 local time...), beta4 is running on my peg. If anyone wants to get known with SUSE in the hard way, here you go

Beta4 will be officially announced this afternoon, when all mirrors are synced.
