Dear Users and Developers,

In the coming days, we will be making several upgrades to the forum and mailing list system that may create temporary loss of functionality. This interruption is expected to be minimal, and further notice will be given before the changes are put into place.

At the time of this post, we will be making backups of the system which may create a slow down for page requests and posting purposes. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may create.

Best Regards,
Dave C., Webmaster

Update: Backups are completed. All posts and page loads should be normal.

And that's a good thing ;-) I didn't really expect it to interrupt the forums for very long, but I have to expect that someone would use the forums while I was making the server read/write on it's hdd a bunch...

Barring any unforseen troubles, I'm expecting to do the forum/ml upgrade either Wed. evening or Thu. morning. Most of the upgrades will be invisible except to the mailing list side of the system.

By the way, I'm still open to both suggestions and volunteers to help out.

What happened last two days? Backup again? PPC Zone seems up again, but I wonder what happened to morphzone .... Now I just get an authentication page:

http://www.morphzone.org/auth.asp

Smart IP Link Login ? What's that?

What's happening around? More hacking?

Thanks!

Hi ;-)

Well, first of all, the reworking of PPCZone would not have been possible without Matt, who has done a remarkable job of getting a secondary server and getting it configured to get the job done.

MorphZone is going to be OK too, but it will not be back up until it's own server is running again. What you see on MZ is a temporary page.

Right now, I'm just glad to see everything on this site working fairly close to what it was.

Dave

Thanks a lot! This site needs to be stop #1 for anyone running a PowerPC system, and we are going to do everything we possibly can to get all the documents, files, and features needed to do just that.

This site does have some great potential. I have started posting in a few of the MAc forums inviting people to come take a look at it. Sadly I have come close to making the decision to sell off my Pegasos2 G4 system. I just cant stant to see it knowing all the childish garbage one peorson can do and effect the whole MorphOS scene. As for linux, well I havent much interest in it.

I have a Pegasos II G4 and no linux is because I dont know it well, and every time I have tried to get Debian to install it failes after all the package are down downloading and start to install at the end. I think I was actually one of the first in the US to get a Pegasos II to tell you the truth.

Ah, please give the debian installer another try :

http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-t ... etinst.iso

And ask on the debian forum if you encounter any problem, and i would be happy to help you out. There is still a little problem with the X configuration, which can easily be worked around, but for the rest it should work out just fine.

Friendly,

Sven Luther
