I've got a problem with online-updates on SUSE 10. Guess it's because I didn't download the 10.0 final ISOs but the 10.1 alpha - so my fault, but maybe it can be easily fixed with your help?

Symptoms:

1) While the addition of additional installations sources does work for 3rd party sites (like the PPC multimedia RPMs mentioned here at PPCZone), I can't add one of the SuSE mirrors. No matter how I vary the pathes and mirrors, I always get the error "no_instsrc_on_media".

So what mirror/path do you enter to keep your installation up-to-date?

2) SuSE Watcher doesn't work here. Can't connect, although otherwise the internet connection does work (browser). Looking at the "details" output when trying an online update, it seems that it tries to connect to the URL "www.suse.de<br>".

Which configuration file do I have to edit to change this wrong entry?

(Could only find the YaST2 server files, i.e. the entries for the CD drive where I installed SuSE from and that hungarian server already mentioned.)

Okay, instsource access does work now - althoiugh there seem to be no updates yet.

But it's from a 10.0 directory, so I guess it wouldn't help me anyway, i.e. I'd need an 10.1 instsource directory (which doesn't seem to exist yet)?

But the problem quoted below remains, i.e. I can't connect to the remote server for getting the server list:

No idea, I never touched 10.1 Alpha. Better use 10.0 final.

10.1 does not have on-line update. It's a developers snapshot, not for production use. But bugreports are very welcome ;-)

For daily use, I would suggest 10.0 final.

Was afraid of that... :-/

Therefore I already started downloading earlier today, but unfortunately this will take some days, it seems, since the faster servers do only have CD 4 & 5. (That's why I downloaded the alpha version the first time - was way quicker.)

I guess there is no way to simply "downgrade" my current installation? Besides the saving of download time I would like of course to simply keep my current configuration.
