I have a MimoMonitor which is USB to a custom monitor, and it works. The real problem is the driver: there are SiS chipsets out there that do work, but they've not been tested in a long time at Genesi. I trust nothing changed or broke in the Linux kernel since then (2.6.25 I think).

Don't expect the performance to be great, and the configuration is a nightmare. The system we ship does include support for it all, you might expect it to "plug and play", but most of the time it does not.

Does that mimo use a displaylink chip? I've heared very good comments of those, but never tried myself.

Hi,

If I understand now we can use a Debian Wheezy/SID armhf on the SmartTop. So ,I think that the kernel is a latest one (3.* ?) and many libs are upgraded, will this provide a better support for the MimoMonitor.

If this solution is still not the better way, which kind of usb display would you recommand to use whit the SmartTop. The goal is to made something like touchscreen remote command for Mediacenter.

Hi.

The only kernel supported at the moment on the Efika is the 2.6.31. Debian works because the kernel check (in only one place) in udev is turned off.

Johan.

Ok, thank you.

I'll search another solution than the MimoMonitor's one.

Regards.
