While I'm absolutely clueless about Genesi's future designs, I think that a blog post from BBRV some time ago at least *suggest* that this *might* be happening...

"The goal is to produce a low-cost board that can be sold as a single board solution, a desktop, a laptop and a tablet (we could say a smarttop, a smartbook, and a smarttablet, but you get the idea)."

...at least if you consider an external video port to be an important feature of a "desktop" system! ;-)

Probably a HDMI, which would be just fine IMHO! (Even preferable!)

:-)

problem is in many parts of the world (e.g. Chile) it's imposible to buy a dvi display that would make the efika mx a real option for thin client. And the prices of the adaptors to get VGA (analog) out of HDMI rule the efika mx out too :(

...don't worry Alejandro, we will have a complete low cost solution that includes the Efika MX, a monitor, keyboard and mouse.

R&B :)

oh... that would be awesome!. any foreseen timeframe? I've deployed a few thin-client custom POS systems and kiosks and also a couple of LTSP on schools in Chile and it would be REALLY great to be able to use ARM (specially your Efika MX) on them instead of x86, but price is critical and it's kind of difficult *cough* to justify the need of HD displays (costing 3+ times a regular display) in that context :p

I've dream about a 15-17" imac alike low cost ARMv7 based system for a loooong time :) but that's another story.
