I also have a curious list of people who I am absolutely sure got a board already, but have no approved project. Either way, the scope of their projects really relies on the ability to fully use the processor (for instance hardcore Linux distribution building which may require iMX515 TO3).
They are:
Quote:
Hector Oron (zumbi)
Add EmDebian/Ubuntu support
http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/project/imx515/777
(has a few TO2s for build?)
Quote:
Jean-Christophe PLAGNIOL-VILLARD
U-Boot Mainline Porting
http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/project/imx515/742
(I was sure we sent him one, he'll need a TO3 though)

The following projects will NOT be approved. This is detailed with the project in the list:
Quote:
Leandro Gentili
Automotive Infotainment Platform
http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/project/imx515/753
* Too similar to the guys at University of Mississippi (@FTF)
* CAN, touch LCD, GPS/GSM would just be USB dongles which is not remotely exciting. Efika MX does not expose LCD interface.
* Bluetooth not in the system anymore
Therefore the project is not technically possible with current hardware.

John Kocurek
low cost eye tracking mouse
http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/project/imx515/757
* I would approve this if we knew how the CMOS sensor interface was going to be connected...

Eli Hini
3D Stereoscopic Media Player
http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/project/imx515/756
* Media required, 1080p output required
* no RCA out, component out, bluetooth..
* 3D not stable
* Relies on an OS port, but we have no confidence that someone is going to port Darwin or FreeBSD

Jed Cousin
MeeGo
http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/project/imx515/784
* Because the MeeGo guys have got it covered, but in any case MeeGo on a Nettop or Netbook is about as exciting as running Android on a desktop PC.
* Already has another project approved

Rupesh Gujare
Android
http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/project/imx515/745
* Freescale already have it more than covered but we also can't guarantee that this code will make it out of NDA-covered extranets or code share agreements

Manish Shakya
i.MX and USB interfacing
http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/project/imx515/787
* Because plugging in a CrystalFontz display and getting it to work is about 5 minutes work and is not something worthwhile
Any other project is simply not technically or temporally feasible right now ("port FreeBSD") and will not be approved for that reason, but the above have specific nits that had to be addressed.
Thank you to all the developers who contributed project ideas, congratulations to those who got approved.
And now, a word out to any project developers who have already been approved, already have original Efika MX systems and need a new one for reasons of NEON optimization or other chipset issues: please contact me personally (matt@genesi-usa dot com) and we'll work something out.
Laurent Guerby and
Stephen Klimaszewski have had their projects promoted to Power Projects because of the great work they've done.
Any new developers wanting to post new ideas please follow the
iMX515 Project Guidelines before posting, and use the rejection examples above as how not to do it :)
