Yes and no. Android is ported to iMX515. We haven't fixed kernel support for the Android kernel yet (we're concentrating on mainline - 2.6.31 - as of today, and will backport when we are done).

Congratulations! But, overall, isn't it a pity that viewing stupid videos has to be a milestone in product development?

I guess I'm too old for this game already.

I think it's not about stupid videos, but about Flash being a very essential part in any system aiming to offer serious (or even *at all useful*) browser capabilities, and being able to view youtube properly is by some people considered to be a measure of Flash/browsing usefulness. And not only by |village idiots|, but it's also something that nVidia shows when demoing their own ARM platform: nVidia Tegra

(EDIT: note to Stefan, from Matt: please don't link that godawful site here :)

Hi all

I have done a initial port of Android to EfikaMx.
It thinks it is on a phone, so keyboard mouse does not work so well.

Photos can be found here:

Note the battery photo, since it thinks that it is running on a phone it warns me about that I do not have any battery :)

congrats on reaching an important milestone, Michael! now efika mx runs one of the two mass-consumer OS'es that matter (of which one is firmly proprietary and will likely never run on anything but its brand device).

Status update:

I have keyboard mouse network working.

Does anyone know where to point to get back to the previous screen ?

/Michael

I've just realized (so late, sorry) your efforts in having Android on the Efika MX. I'm surprised that people don't rave about it: This flavour of Linux is, perhaps, the one with the most huge potential audience. But I guess you've also realized.

Why there seems to be no more progress or interest?

And on my part, I'm still looking for time to actually contribute meaningfully to it...

Thankyou Michael. I didn't realize that Johan was also working on Android.
