If this is basically an Efika MX Open Client, what's with the "Developer Edition" label? The "alpha" state of the product?
It's the Efika MX Open Client without a case. It's the developer edition because it comes with a debug board.. the alpha state is because it's a pre-production board for verification (although it has been fully tested) and may have a few wires here and there to fix board bugs before the full production model was signed off on.
The software is decidedly "alpha" - you'll get Ubuntu Karmic (a pre-release, alpha 6 as of today) plus our own roll of the 2.6.31 kernel to go with it (binaries, packages and source). And that's it. It will not ship with accelerated multimedia codecs, 2D/3D acceleration at first instance.
Any problems you have are yours although we will be shipping updates, patches and new software (codecs, 2D/3D, etc.) at regular intervals, you should all start following the blog at
http://blog.efikamx.info/ for updates :)
