But..

You can run Windows on it.. That is a big selling factor.
Maybe Sweden is alone, but Linux Netbooks are no longer
beeing sold. 90% of all Netbooks run Windows. People
gladly paid an extra 100 EUR for Windows.

Running Citrix over 3G is of course possible, but not
exactly pleasant. Consumers are used to thick clients
and not thin. Thin clients work for enterprise-use.
Running Citrix over 3G is really not bad. The bandwidth requirement is not that huge; latency can be a problem but is usually absorbed by the Citrix protocol.

And, for the price, and the battery life, I think using Office over a 3G connection would be worth it considering (just imagine, you never have to deal with a Windows Update or Patch Tuesday ever again...)

Tested, it works nicely even over the Atlantic Ocean :-)

BTW Open Client power consumption running Citrix is 5W maximum, tested using a Kill-A-Watt.

I've not been able to try out any video decoding yet, and again this is before any advanced power management has been enabled.

Indeed. I wish it was better known but it is on Wikipedia so most people probably think it is a lie :D
It's hidden in their datasheets, too.

VCCHFM on a Z530 is 1.10 V, maximum ICCHFM is 2.50 A. Your 2 watt processor just became a 2.75 W processor.

And, design ICC is 3.50 A - 3.85 W.

I got a Sheeva Plug recently, another ARM based device, perfect for a DIY NAS. Power consumption is 5W + USB HDD, 1W to 10W, depending mainly on age instead of size :)
