I mean come on, if there's a market for such gadgets, surely it should include PPC!!!

With the 5121e it should not be too difficult, as it has everything in the chip...

Guess I'm not one to talk but that price is pretty steep. Is that an x86 or ARM cpu? I wonder if the OQO offers a lower cubic volume...

It's ARM.

We could do something similar with the MPC5121e but the point would be...?

Products have to have a business plan. Making something cool for the sake of it just isn't going to budget well..

I'm not talking about the particular cube -though I do think it's elegant and cool. The point is that there *is* a market for such gadgets, otherwise there wouldn't be so many of them, and surely PPC can get a segment of that market...

Is there really that much of a market? How many of these companies and products survive and stay a viable product for more than a year, and how many just make a small flurry of blog announcements when they are released to later die a quiet death?

Which is? I seem to have missed the part where this thing has a million customers, probably something to do with the fact that it's going to sell for something like $3000 :)

I'll correct myself here, it's MIPS (or it was at one point) using an NEC chipset. And it's for Space vehicles... so, you can probably count on one hand the number of people who actually need one of these. The rest will buy it because it is cool, and miss the point of the device entirely.

You mean get PPC into space? I think you'll find all the Mars rovers run Power...
