In MoL 0.70 I cannot install Panther, becouse installer not allow to select disk with next message: "MacOS cannot boot from this disk".

MacOS 10.2 Jaguar in same conditions works fine.
In osx.config HFS volume with -boot -whole -force flags

For HFS volumes i have standalone IDE hard disk drive Seagate 120Gb; partitioning with OpenDiskUtility in MacOS installer. Disk sets in Master on IDE channel 0.

any idea?

Is the partition you are installing on within the first physical 8GB of the harddrive, and does it end within the first 8GB?

Yes, 10.2 isn't as picky as 10.3 for some reason. It's a weird problem considering you can use any partition size on a Mac.

When the OS10.3 cd boots up got the Disk Utility and be sure to select "ERASE" for the Disk/parition you are using for Mac OS..

Great! Boot volume available for installing now :)

But I get new glitch:
Cannot eject CD from MacOS with usual method's - drag on trashcan or from menu :( And when installer wait for second disk, I cannot replace it.
When I try eject CD - it disappear and after 0,5 sec appear again on desktop without physical ejection.

I have Debian with 2.6.8 kernel. After update from 2.6.7 kernel a lost automount CD in /MEDIA and in root now appear pseudofile cdrom!

After adding in fstab string
/dev/sr0 /mnt iso9660, blablabla
my ATAPI CD via sr0 device under ide-scsi emulation. In KDE automounting works nice, but from MacOS i cant eject or change disk - simple MacOS not recognized new inserted disk, changed from linux side :(

So did the "erase" help? Glad you got it working..

About the eject - yes this is a known bug with MOL sometimes. When I run OS 9.x i have this trouble, but with my Panther install it is fine - also to be able to burn cds with MOL make sure you use scsi emulation (ide-scsi)

No - it was just 8Gb limitation trouble.
Boot partition must be from beginning of HDD and no longer that 8Gb -
in this conditions boot volume sucessfully available for installer :)
And erase, of course after partition creation.

Last days i have installed and worked MacOS 10.3 Panther, but CD problem still not solved. Maybe it device-model-dependent problem? My drive is ATAPI AOPEN CDRW. Have anybody same experience?
