Hi and hello to the PPC Zone !

Well, first I'd like to apologize for my pretty bad english, I hope you guys get the point anyhow.

I installed Debian Sarge on my PowerMac G3 B&W 400 ... everything works fine, but when the CD installer is finished and wants to start the yaboot loader nothing happens. (Monitor is grey and little diskette indicates that there is no OS ...)

I tried resetting ParameterRam and NVram ... but no effect.

Using a live CD (I tried Ubuntu) works perfectly fine and I even had access to an old NTFS partition which were on the disc (now not anymore of course!)

Umm, the HardDisk is an 80 Gig Master jumpered thing ... I don't have a MacOS so I can't check if that would be booting.
And I replaced the 40 pin cable to the harddisk with a new 80 pin one.
Could that have something to with it ?

Hope to read from you soon !
Thanks in advantage ;),

Regards,
wintermute

Your English is great! :)

Is there any way you can post your yaboot.conf and your fstab or partition scheme?
