I have a SCSI scanner AGFA Snapscan 1236s which I am sure is compatable with Linux. I have installed XSane but it does not detect the scanner. When I run LSPCI in a terminal, my SCSI card (Symbios Logic) is detected, but I am not sure it is 'installed' automatically by Debian.

When I run lsmod it does list a sym53c8xx module and I can see it as well under /proc/scsi.
I dont know what I am doing wrong but when I run XSane I get the error "no device available".

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for any help!
