Hello,

it seems lot of people are wanting to install Mac-On-Linux, and are having diverse degree of success. Rather than answer those questions one by one, we created a MOL forum for this discussion to take place. It is at the bottom of the list, in the other OSes section, and there is already one plea for help there, so it would be nice if people already running MOL could help him out, since it is one thing i have no major expertize with.

Friendly,

Sven Luther

Great Idea for a forum, Sven. Why not open this thing up with the most basic of questions.... "What version of MacOS is the best to attempt to install under MOL?"

Regards,
Dave

The thing is that u can do almost everything with Linux, rite? So why running MOL?

I have two main reasons:

(1) To watch flash, quicktimes and wmvideo files embedded in some stupid web pages :-P (well, although with gentoo is very easy to install mplayerplug-in !!! cool stuff!!!)

(2) To simulate a network and do some network testing and stuff.

What about u guys?

I currently don't run MOL. But the only reason is that i'm out of HDD space to install MacOS X. As soon as i do something with it i will say that i use it often because i need to run CorelDraw.

There are 3 differents tutorials about this in the Pegasos book
So you may want to try it :

- Installing MacOnLinux from PegXMac LiveCD
- Installing MacOnLinux from a minimal Debian
- Installing MacOnLinux from Ubuntu

You can also try the "froswork" liveCD...
